Adult
Day Treatment
The adult day treatment service offers flexible length-of-stay and individualized care to clients who are 18 years of age or older. Its purpose is to provide treatment to individuals whose substance use and/or co-occurring major mental illness (dual diagnosis) has resulted in disruption of their emotional, mental, physical and socioeconomic functioning. This program is designed for those clients whose treatment in a less restrictive setting would be unlikely to result in changes in attitude and motivation sufficient to maintain abstinence from alcohol and other drugs. The program is limited to those individuals who do not need a locked environment and who do not have a physical, emotional, or psychiatric impairment which would require the availability of 24-hour medical staff. Program Services Clients receive education on: drugs, alcohol, the recovery process, psychiatric diagnosis, psychotropic medications, as well as the importance of compliance with these medications. Additionally, clients participate in groups designed to help manage anger and other feelings without use of substances. Planning for transfer to outpatient treatment begins at the initial contact with the agency. Families are encouraged to participate in education and group therapy. Admission Criteria
