Special Connections

Program Overview

Special Connections is a drug and alcohol assessment and treatment program for pregnant women who have a history of alcohol or other substance abuse. The services are offered at no cost to the client and are offered in both English and Spanish.

Program Services

In-depth multi-disciplinary assessment, individualized intensive treatment plan, individualized case management services, group counseling, nutrition program, infant development, parenting, child safety, health care and urine screening and monitoring.

Criteria for Admission

Referred clients must be females who have substance abuse issues needing treatment and are pregnant.

People Most Able to Benefit from this Program

Pregnant women who are at risk of relapse;

Women who are unable to maintain abstinence with less frequent treatment contact;

Women who have minimal support for recovery and;

Women who are experiencing barriers to treatment.

Expected Length of Stay

Length of services is determined on a case-by-case basis. Services may be provided for one month to two years.
