Substance Abuse and Mental Health Treatment

Program Overview
Arapahoe House has partnered with the Mental Health Center of Denver to provide intensive integrated treatment services to 100 adults with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.  The High Intensity Treatment Team (HITT) consists of:  nine case managers who work in dyads, one nurse case manager, one clinic nurse, a psychiatrist, support staff, and team coordinator.

 

Program Services
This integrated model of services provides; intensive case management services, crisis management, psychiatric services including medication management, group and individual therapy, wellness classes, payeehip services, linking consumers to natural supports in the community to increase their social support system, accessing housing, education and vocational rehabilitation services.

 

Admission Criteria
All clients must be referred through the Mental Health Center of Denver.

 

People Most Able to Benefit from this Program
Individuals who are suffering from severe and persistent mental illness, who require a significant amount of support and treatment in order to be able to live safely in the community.
Individuals who abuse or who are dependent on drugs or alcohol.

 

Expected Length of Stay
Clients are expected to receive services from the team until they require a lower level of treatment intensity. They are discharged only if they move out of county, or at the client's request or per program requirements.

 

Hours of Operation
Office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. 24 Hours on-call.
