This Saturday: Arapahoe House Hosts Adopt a Family Event at Children’s Museum of DenverMedia Advisory
Who: Arapahoe House, Colorado’s leading nonprofit provider of substance abuse treatment for vulnerable individuals and families.
What: An event celebrating the 2009 Adopt a Family drive. Pre-registered donors will drop off their Adopt a Family gifts, meet select Arapahoe House client families, Santa, enjoy refreshments and complimentary admission to the Children’s Museum.
Where: The Program Playhouse at the Children’s Museum of Denver.
When: Saturday, December 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Why: “Holidays are often difficult time for many people, but people in recovery from addiction face even more difficult challenges during this time of year,” said Arapahoe House CEO, David Murphy. “The children suffer with their parents. Adopt a Family was created to allow parents in drug and alcohol treatment to bring holiday gifts and cheer to their children, who, for economic reasons, may otherwise have none.”
“The entire experience humbled me to the fact that there are good people, even great people out there,” said one Arapahoe House client about the 2008 Adopt a Family program. “The fact that you can bring such great happiness to those in need that you don’t even know is eternally appreciated.”
Arapahoe House would like to thank Colorado Business Bank for underwriting this event.
