Program Overview
Arapahoe House has three adult withdrawal management (detox) programs around metro Denver, Colorado in Adams, Arapahoe, and Jefferson Counties.
The primary goals of withdrawal management are to watch and help patients as they safely withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol. In addition, these programs work to motivate patients to continue their treatment once leaving. If the patient is interested in further treatment, staff will work to get them connected with a program that would be the most helpful.
Admission Criteria
• 18 years or older;
• Intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or in withdrawal from substances;
• Must not require medical care while they detox;
• Must be mobile and able to provide for their own personal care;
• The individual should not be physically violent.
Expected length of time in program:
Patients are discharged when no withdrawal symptoms are present and the blood alcohol level is at .000. Generally withdrawal management extends from 12 hours to three days. Patients motivated for further treatment may stay longer in order to make sure that they are connected with ongoing care or to create a plan for when they leave.

Admission to our withdrawal management programs can occur 24 hrs a day/7 days a week. A call prior to arrival to the detox unit to provide background information on the patient is helpful.
